It has become a nightly ritual for Westli to ask for music at the dinner table and for Ava to ask for Sugar Rush, a song from Wreck-it-Ralph, to annoy Alivya. Tonight Ava and Westli danced around while the music played.

I closed th door to my office today.
It's not something I normally do, but PHC was getting too damn cold.
I tend to think that most individuals have an issue with their office's heating and air conditioning systems. No cubical farm has ever had a properly balanced HVAC, and everyone has a different heat preference.
60 pounds ago, I was able to get away with a sweater, but in the last year that no longer cuts it. I now have an oil filled space heater cranked up to its max. While I still leave my office door open most of the time there are moments where closing the door is the only way I can get warm enough.
My boss seems to be in the same boat. I now get regular visits as he warms himself by my fire. Others in the office either like it or think it's to damn hot. I'll let you guess which ones.

I made pumpkin pie waffles Sunday morning. Pumpkin is definitely the flavor of autumn.
It took me half an hour to cut, clean, and skin these tiny carrots from the CSA. The ones we grew in our garden were much bigger and much better.

I am not often into doing the latest social media chain letter type challenges. I cringe when people post the results of their buzz feed quizzes. Who cares what some quiz told you was your best feature, or what house you would belong to in Hogwarts.
I have to respect the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge though. Not only is it generating awareness of the disease, its also generating funds. At the time of writing it just passed over 50 million dollars. Quite the feat.
Since I ran the Cheesehead half marathon this morning, the time between getting home and hopping in the shower was the perfect opportunity. I'm glad my wife was there to help the kids with the bucket, so I did not suffer the same fate as her with all the water going down her back.
I challenged Will Smith from Tested.com (not the actor), Stephanie Rosenow, our newly departed summer intern at PHC, and PHC's general manager, Russ Salzer. We will see if I get results.
