Patio Room

The week wasn’t a total loss around here. We made a lot of progress on the patio room extension.

The stairs have been adjusted so that they line up with the door too.

It felt like it took a really long time to get to this point, and I can’t wait to peel off the blue stickers on the windows! There are still a number of fiddly bits to do. The dehumidifier is working hard to pull out any moisture that remains after it rained long and hard during construction. The contractor will lay some subflooring on top of this particle board that is supporting the insulation. He has to add railings to the stairs and deck outside of the room. This ceiling is temporary as the materials he was sent are not the correct ones. So when the new ones arrive, he will have to take this down and replace it. Then there are still the skylights to be installed. The electrician is scheduled for a week from Tuesday. After all of that is done, Jon and I are going to install the flooring and ceiling fan ourselves to save some money. We have never done a heated floor before, so that will be an adventure.

We are very excited to finally see this take form. I cannot wait to share the finished photos! But patience is the word of the week!
