Strike
Several months ago I started having the kids put away their laundry after I folded them. No, they don't do it like I would, and yes, I had to let go of that little bit of control. Sometimes I still end up pulling everything out of the drawers and reorganizing them. But since three of the kids dress themselves, and I don't have to look in the drawers everyday... it is not as hard at as it sounds to let it go!
My next goal was to tackle the wrong side out problem. My kids, ehem, and spouse, just whip off their clothes and toss. One arm right, one arm wrong. One leg half out, one leg totally wrong... and so on. So I got tired of turning their clothes right side out not to mention having to dry them extra long because they were bundled up in huge masses. A month or so ago, I started having Taylor and Liv sit with me for each load and turn their own clothes. If they don't, then I just put them away wrong side out, and they deal with it.
Today I had another epiphany... my children are big enough to fold their own clothes too. Call it chores, call it child labor, call it a strike! Whatever it is, I think it is good for them! And, it is definitely good for me!
